TRAINING - WEEK 5

I learned some lessons this week. First of all, don’t be lazy at the beginning of the week and take your day of rest - you never know when you might need it later. Second, work out in the morning because you never know what’s going to come up during the day to prevent you from working out that night. I took my day of rest on Sunday…dumb, dumb! Partly because I was lazy and partly because I was working on painting the bathroom, so it’s not like I was just lying around in bed or on the couch or something. Monday, I went to the podiatrist and got a shot of steroids…I’ve been having issues and he seems to think it is tendonitis. He told me not to work out that day, so I didn’t. I thought I’d be back in the swing of things on Tuesday, but my foot was visibly bruised from the shot and hurt way worse than it did before the shot….a different kind of pain, but I could hardly walk that day. Apparently it was a normal reaction to the shot, but I didn’t like it much at all. Luckily, it was better the next day and the shot seems to have helped my original problem considerably! So, here’s what my week ended up looking like….

Sunday - lazy, Day of Rest
Monday - nothing
Tuesday - nothing
Wednesday - ran 2 miles & strength training
Thursday - 45 min spin class / extended stretching & yoga to make up for Monday
Friday - ran 4 miles
Saturday - ran 3 miles / 20 minutes biking & strength training to make up for Tuesday
