So, I got an email today from an old boss of mine from my EY days. She left EY shortly before I did for another job. She's a really, really great lady. After our EY days, my friend Vorrice and I used to babysit her kids every year for an evening in December when she and her husband would go to her company Holiday party. It was our annual Holiday tradition. Anyway, there's an opening at her company and she sent the email today wondering if I was ready to move back and if I'd want the job. I'm not sure how serious she is or how feasible it would be for them or I, but it's definitely an interesting thing to think about.
It's funny, because just last night at dinner, Tonya asked me that very question and I told her I didn't think I would be ready to move back for a while. But, throw a readily available job into the mix and it's got me thinking a bit. I don't think I'm ready, but I feel like I have to consider the option! What do you think - have I had enough time in the NYC? Is it time to head back to Texas?

Very flattering yet a tough call for sure! Would love to talk to you about it. I think if you left NYC you could honestly say you had a wonderful experience and took full advantage of living there.
If it's a job that you would like as much or more than the job you have now I think it's something worth pondering. It goes without saying that it would be wonderful for you to be able to see your family, babysit the boys, and all the other fun family experiences.
Maybe after living in NYC you'd come back to Dallas with a new perspective and realize there are other parts of Dallas-or Texas that you'd like to explore too.
Would the person who told you about the position be your boss?
I think if you didn't jump right on it and start talking salary you might be happy where you are right now.
But it is always nice to have options right?
That Anonymous was me.

I think it is at least worth exploring. You know we would love to have you back here, but you have to do what is right for you. i know you will, but pray about it, and see where God leads you.
